GESI Data Collectors Needed Across Nigeria — Apply Now

The Women Environmental Programme (WEP), in partnership with Christian Aid, ActionAid, Hope Alive for Possibilities Initiative, and the Gender Advocacy Movement for the Environment (GAME), is launching the 2025 Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Performance Leaderboard.

This new initiative aims to evaluate how state governments across Nigeria are addressing gender and inclusion in governance. The goal is to promote policies and practices that ensure fairness, equity, and inclusive development for all — regardless of gender, age, disability, or social status.

What is the GESI Performance Leaderboard?

The GESI Performance Leaderboard is designed to rank state governments based on their efforts toward gender-responsive and socially inclusive governance. It highlights how well public policies and resources serve the needs of every segment of the population.

Governments that perform well on the leaderboard will be those that demonstrate fairness in resource allocation, inclusiveness in service delivery, and commitment to equitable development.
