The NNPC/TotalEnergies Empowering the Teachers (ETT) Fellowship 2026 is now open for applications! This fully funded initiative offers exceptional faculty members from Nigerian universities a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend a semester at the world-renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.
This transformative program is a collaboration between the MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI), NNPC Limited, and TotalEnergies Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI). The goal is to strengthen teaching capacity in Nigeria by exposing university lecturers to innovative teaching methods and curriculum development strategies used at MIT.

About the NNPC/TotalEnergies ETT Fellowship
The ETT Fellowship was created to support educational reform and professional development among university faculty in Nigeria. Through immersive classroom observation, mentorship, and curriculum workshops, selected fellows will be equipped to drive impactful changes in engineering and technology education back home.
This unique fellowship is designed as a platform for innovation, targeting educators passionate about transforming the academic experience for students in Nigerian universities.

Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the NNPC/TotalEnergies ETT Fellowship, applicants must:
- Hold a PhD degree
- Be a current lecturer (minimum rank of Lecturer I) at a Nigerian university
- Teach in one of the eligible disciplines listed above
- Demonstrate a strong interest in curriculum development and innovative teaching methods
- Be committed to driving academic reform and innovation in Nigerian tertiary institutions

Interested candidates should:

3. Upload the necessary documents as required
4. Submit the application before the May 20, 2025 deadline
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews in Lagos, scheduled for the week of July 22, 2025. Interviews will be conducted by a panel comprising MIT faculty and representatives from NNPC and TotalEnergies.
